Mendoza number one in Puerto Rico BSN for week 4 (by Hoops Agents)

Dominican Rep. Shooting guard Rigoberto Mendoza (191-SG-1992) had a great game in the last week for Santeros de Aguada, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 4.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, nine rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Caguas (#3, 3-2) 107-103. Santeros maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Puerto Rican BSN. They are still close to the very top. Aguada would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last week. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team's last game Mendoza had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Santeros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Rigoberto Mendoza has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 6.8rpg), assists (9th best: 5.0apg) and averages impressive 53.3% FGP.

The second best player in last week's games was young international forward RJ Melendez (201-F-2002) of league's second-best Capitanes de Arecibo. Melendez had a very good evening with 35 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Capitanes cruised to a 123-116 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Carolina (#6, 1-3). This victory allowed Arecibo to move up to second position in Group B. His team's 5-2 record is not bad at all. Melendez is one of the most experienced players at Arecibo and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last week was American forward Tyler Cook (206-PF-1997) of Osos de Manati (#5). Cook got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last week. He went also for ten rebounds . Despite Cook's great performance the Osos lost 92-100 to slightly higher-ranked Caguas (#3, 3-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Manati ranking at the top of Group B, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cook could help Manati to bring them higher in the standings. Cook has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (9th best).

9. Samuel Waardenburg (208-F-1999) of Mayaguez - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Christian Lopez (183-G-1995) of Caguas - 29 points and 5 rebounds
